Give back to the video-tech community

If you’ve been collaborating on a Summer Project, this is your moment to wrap it up, celebrate, and share.
We’ll close this cycle with a vibrant hybrid demo day, where teams showcase what they built over three months of remote work.

You’ll meet collaborators in person, test what you created, and connect your work with the community.
Everyone is welcome to attend the demos! It’s a moment to be inspired, ask questions, and celebrate open-source impact.

FAQ

We don’t just run an event, we care about your experience!

Every journey is different, and we’re here to help you shape yours. From daily flow to who you travel with, we’ll be by your side.

Do I need to be part of a Summer Project to attend?

Not at all. Summer Week is open to everyone who’s part of, or curious about the video-tech ecosystem. Some people come to reconnect, others to explore new ideas, meet the community, or simply be inspired by what others are building.

Can I bring my partner or family?

Absolutely! Many participants come with family — Uruguay is safe and welcoming. We take that seriously: we’ll suggest activities based on your interests, help you plan special moments, and make sure everyone feels part of the experience.

Is the week compatible with remote work or PTO?

Absolutely. Many participants mix their workday with the Summer Week experience, and our offices are ready for that! You’ll find quiet spaces and fast WiFi.
If you’re a partner of Qualabs, you can co-work alongside the team you already collaborate with remotely. Whether you join meetings, share space or just enjoy lunch together. It’s a great chance to strengthen your everyday connection.

“I try not to have expectations when I come, everything is so well planned that I just go with the flow. And I’ve yet to have a bad experience. This year I brought my family, and I was a bit worried at first, but that was dumb. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. My son already asked if we can come back. You even arranged amazing soccer experiences for him, which gave me space to talk tech with friends in the industry. If someone asks me, I just say: go to Montevideo. I said it last year, and I’ll say it again and again. I love it here and I’m coming back.”

“This was my first time in South America, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. But it turned out to be a fantastic introduction. Lovely people, lovely country. Even not speaking Spanish, I felt truly welcome. Where I come from, in Eastern Europe, many people never leave their country.. So being here, experiencing how others think and live, is something powerful. This week has been an incredible reminder of how much we can gain from stepping outside our comfort zone.”

“I talked to Casey beforehand, and he just said: ‘I don’t know how to explain it. You just need to go.’ And he was right. We brought the whole family, it was a stretch for us. But the Qualabs team was incredible: helping us get set up, supporting us as a family! This is a chance to experience a part of the world you might not go to otherwise. To meet people you wouldn’t meet otherwise. It shows you how much bigger the tech community really is and how valuable it is to share ideas and perspectives beyond your bubble.”

“I’ve known the Qualabs folks for many years, so I expected amazing hospitality. And it was exceeded by ten times. I also expected to connect with a few of your team members, and that’s been absolutely amazing. The people here they’re curious, smart, and generous. They give as much as they take. If someone at Demuxed or any conference asked me ‘Why Uruguay?’ I’d say: because it’s a really special place. More than the video the hospitality and the people were an experience I’ll never forget.”

«My expectation was to build connections in a more intimate environment with professionals and friends in the industry. I also wanted to find opportunities to share my knowledge and enjoy. But this has far exceeded my expectations. It’s been enlightening, empowering and deeply memorable. I’ll definitely come back and bring more people. This is an opportunity to do something not just for your job, but for yourself and your career something beyond your current role.»

«I came here for the Summer Project 2025, It’s very good to be in Montevideo — it’s my first time here, and it was completely different from what I thought it would be. The parties and the tech talks were incredible. Montevideo turned out to be so much more than I expected. The people here are amazing. And everyone came from all over the world: Europe, North America, and I’m here from Brasil. It was great to meet everyone and exchange ideas in all those talks.»
