From the people who came
What the week actually feels like
We could describe it, but it lands better from the people who travelled here. Campers from the last edition, talking about the week in their own words.
Before you ask
We help you shape your week
Every journey is different and we are here to help you shape yours, from the daily flow to who you travel with.
The week
Who can come?
Anyone who works with video, or is simply curious about it! Some come to reconnect with people they only see on a screen the rest of the year, some to meet the community for the first time. Say you’re coming and you’re in. Summer Projects run alongside, and you can join those too if you want.
Can I come for just a few days?
Of course! The full week, a couple of days, or your own mix — it is all optional. The two days of the Innovation Track are designed exactly for that, so if you are in the region you can come just for those.
Does it work with remote work or PTO?
Both work! We have workspace and fast internet, so you can take your calls and keep your week moving, and plenty of people mix the two. If you already work with the Qualabs team remotely, you can sit next to them for a few days.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Tell us and we take care of it! We ask before you arrive — vegetarian, vegan, coeliac, gluten-free, allergies — and every meal of the week is set up around that: the networking lunch, the after party, the asado at JP’s farm. Same for whoever comes with you. Come hungry and leave the rest to us.
Travel & logistics
What do I need to enter Uruguay?
A valid passport, and for most countries — the U.S., Canada, the EU and many others — no visa for a short stay. It depends on your nationality, so check yours before you book: if you do need one, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it takes at least 20 working days. Not sure? Ask us and we work it out with you.
How do I get to Uruguay?
Fly into Carrasco (MVD), in Montevideo. There are direct flights from Miami, and regular connections through Panama City and São Paulo with Copa and LATAM. And if you want to see Buenos Aires first, it is an easy hop from there: a short flight, or the ferry across the Río de la Plata, which is a lovely way to arrive. Once your trip is booked we send you travel tips and how to get around once you land.
Can I bring my partner or my family?
Absolutely, and many do! Uruguay is safe and family-friendly, and we take that part seriously: tell us what they are into and we suggest activities and help you plan the week, so they get their own good week while you are in sessions.
I have been to Uruguay before. What else is there?
If you are a camper who has already been to other editions, you have done the classics — so Thursday stays open on purpose. It is the day to see another side of Uruguay. Punta del Este is two hours by car from Montevideo, and worth the drive for the architecture and the beaches. It is in Maldonado, where the week ends on Friday with the asado at JP’s farm. Tell us what you are into and we help you put the route together.
